Holoholo’ing

Holoholo means to go for a walk, stroll or sail.

Hawaiian Airlines is hosting the Hawaiian Airlines Holoholo Challenge 2020 to encourage people to go out. The challenge is from October 1 to October 30. A friend invited me to join. Since October is my birthday month, I thought it would be a good way to celebrate my health and push the restart button on walking and running long distance. I chose the 130 mile challenge, which is equivalent to distance around the Island of Oahu.

To keep my routes interesting and help me focus less on the distance, my run/walks will have a theme. And I will share the pictures with you! Basically, I am going to be your L.A. tour guide this month!

Today’s theme is The Med. Southern California’s climate is the same as the Mediterranean— which made me think of the ocean, hillsides, etc. It was also super warm today so I wanted to be near the water.

3.1 miles from Point Vicente Lighthouse to Terranea Cove.
